Electronic Communication Consent

ScoliBase may communicate through secure portal notifications, ScoliBase Connect notifications, email, electronic documents, and, where enabled, SMS or text messages.

Communications may include account and security notices, appointment or workflow reminders, brace-tracking related notifications, service updates, requests for action, and other operational communications related to ScoliBase services.

ScoliBase Connect may display or send electronic communications related to brace wear tracking and the user's connected ScoliBase account. Depending on the features enabled, these communications may include reminders, status information, account notices, or other information associated with use of the application.

Push notifications and similar device notifications may appear on a device's lock screen or notification center depending on the user's device settings. Users should consider the privacy of their device when enabling notifications.

By providing electronic contact information, enabling applicable notification settings, or using communication features made available through ScoliBase or ScoliBase Connect, users consent to receive electronic communications through the applicable channels, subject to their available communication preferences and applicable law.

Consent to receive optional electronic communications does not require users to consent to marketing communications unless separately disclosed and agreed to where required.

Electronic communications may be delayed, misdirected, intercepted, filtered, delivered to an outdated address or phone number, or viewed by another person with access to a user's device, email account, phone number, or notification history.

Email and SMS communications may not provide the same level of security as information accessed after authentication within ScoliBase or ScoliBase Connect. When appropriate, notifications may contain limited information and direct the user to sign in to a secure service for additional details.

Users are responsible for maintaining accurate email addresses, telephone numbers, and other contact information associated with their account.

Users are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to secure their devices, accounts, passwords, authentication credentials, and notification settings and for reporting suspected unauthorized access promptly.

Parents, guardians, and other authorized representatives should use care when accessing ScoliBase or ScoliBase Connect on shared devices. Information associated with a minor or other patient may be visible to individuals who have access to the device, email account, phone number, or notification history used for communications.

ScoliBase and ScoliBase Connect are not emergency communication services and are not monitored continuously for emergency or urgent medical requests.

Users should not rely on portal messages, application notifications, email, SMS, or other ScoliBase communication channels for emergencies or time-sensitive medical situations. Emergency services or the appropriate healthcare provider should be contacted through the appropriate channel when immediate assistance is needed.

Delivery of electronic communications cannot be guaranteed. Communications may be affected by internet connectivity, cellular service, email filtering, device settings, notification permissions, third-party service availability, or other technical conditions outside ScoliBase's control.

Users may be able to revoke or limit certain communication preferences through application settings, device settings, account settings, unsubscribe mechanisms, or published support channels, depending on the communication method.

Certain communications may continue even after optional communication preferences are disabled when those communications are reasonably necessary for account security, authentication, service administration, legal compliance, healthcare operations, or other permitted operational purposes.

Users should promptly update their ScoliBase account information when an email address, phone number, or other electronic contact method changes. ScoliBase is not responsible for communications delivered to contact information that a user has failed to keep current.
